About Us

This institution, established in the late 1940’s and registered in 1953 as a society by Late Sri Bijoy Kumar Bhattacharya, has been serving the poor farmers in the villages around Kalanabagram free of cost, for over seventy years.

Built on the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi’s “Buniyadi Siksha” (Basic Education), Siksha-Niketan runs a very unique program of education which emphasises on vocational and values education alongside an academic curriculum.

This institution currently provides opportunities for education to nearly four hundred underprivileged children and young adults in the village of Kalanabagram in Bardhaman district of West Bengal. Siksha-Niketan is a nonprofit, non-government charity organisation, and runs on donations and volunteer work offered by friends and well-wishers, and some support from the Central and State Governments.
